We’d rather tell you plainly, up front, than have you find out later.
What Entrust-Docs is
Entrust-Docs provides state-specific legal documents that let a parent keep helping their young adult child after that child turns 18 — a healthcare power of attorney, a HIPAA authorization, a financial power of attorney, and a FERPA authorization for educational records.
The documents were drafted by a licensed attorney. The process guides you through the questions, explains what each document does, and includes online notarization so you finish with signed, usable documents rather than a folder of unsigned PDFs.
What Entrust-Docs is not
We are not your lawyers. Buying from Entrust-Docs does not create an attorney-client relationship between you and Entrust-Docs, or between you and any attorney associated with it. Nothing on this site, in the process, or in the accompanying materials is legal advice about your particular situation.
This is not a substitute for a lawyer where your situation is complicated. If your family involves a disability or special needs, a contested custody arrangement, a young adult who cannot make their own decisions, significant assets held for the young adult, or anything else out of the ordinary, you should talk to an attorney who can advise you personally. We would rather you did that than buy from us.
We do not review your answers for legal soundness. The documents assemble from what you tell us. If the information you give us is wrong or incomplete, the documents will reflect that.
Who signs, and why it matters
These documents are signed by your young adult child, not by you. They are the ones granting authority. That means they have to be willing, present, and able to understand what they’re signing.
If your child is not willing to sign, no service can help with that, and any service that says otherwise is selling you something that doesn’t exist.
Where we operate
Entrust-Docs prepares documents under Texas law, for young adults whose permanent legal residence is in Texas.
Your student does not have to attend a Texas school. What matters is where they legally reside — their family home, not their campus address.
If your young adult’s permanent residence is outside Texas, we are not the right fit yet. Join our list and we will tell you when we reach your state.
